Top Ten Things We Loved This Week

Friday, August 8, 2014 /

From Katy Perry's onesie to President Obama singing 'Fancy', here are our absolute favorite things that happened this past week.

  1. Vanity Fair announced their best-dressed list for 2014. Cate Blanchett took home the gold this year (rightly), with other wonderful ladies such as Emma Watson and Michelle Dockery making it into the top 10 for obvious reasons.

  2. Ke$ha dyed her hair…. AGAIN. She chose a daring shade of mint green, but we sort of love it.
  3. Ibiza in general this week was amaaazing. Thank you Ricardo Tisci for having the juiciest birthday party of all time. Kimye and Bieber are invited to my birthday party also. Hoping they RSVP soon.
  4. The cast members of The Big Bang Theory have signed of for an 8th series. More Sheldon Cooper? Yes please.
  5. No good week is complete without the announcement of a new Disney movie in the works. Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass is happening. We cannot wait for this.
  6. Katy Perry’s onesie. That is all.
  7. Wu-Tang Clan Reunion? Yes, you heard correctly. The nine living members of the group performed on The Daily Show this week, and spoke about their new album, set for release in November. Squeal.

  8. This is the best mash up we have ever seen. President Obama sings Iggy Azeala ‘Fancy'. It’s amaaaazing.
  9. Niall Horan tweeted a picture of himself to Miley Cyrus…wearing Miley Cyrus leggings. He is everything.
  10.  Kim Kardashian has officially changed her name. Mrs. West tweeted a picture of new passport photo. She looks fantastic. We want to be her.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Fun In The Sun: Vacation Essentials

/

Jet setting to paradise this August? Packing can be tough. I’ve put together all your vacation essentials to bring along!

On a tropical vacation, you’re relaxing in the sun with the mindset of “good vibes only” right? So, your wardrobe should be just that.

For daytime, whether you’re by the pool or beach, a sun hat and aviators are the perfect accessories for the classy and chic woman you are. Next, a brightly colored bathing suit is perfect to enhance the amazing tan you’re getting while soaking in those rays. Lastly, a sarong is my favorite swim cover up. It can be worn so many ways – you can tie it around your waist OR if you have a bigger one, you can tie it up top like a dress. AND don’t forget that sunscreen, girl! Protecting our skin is key.

At night, channel your inner island girl with a ruched maxi skirt and crop top. A maxi skirt is the perfect mix of casual and dressy, when it features a slit or draping. As for makeup, just a little bronzer across your cheeks should be all your need to add to your sun-kissed glow. A colorful statement necklace is also a must for a neutral colored outfit. For shoes, a nice pair of embellished flats will be great to pair with any outfit.

And last, but certainly not least, make sure your have you’re Rebel Redefined tee! If you’ve haven’t gotten yours yet, shop the site here! (insert link)

Now you’re all ready to go! Enjoy!

XO,

Jess

Gabby said, "connecting with others’ positive, peaceful energy is the best way to reclaim your power when you feel powerless." So If you want to get in on the fun and feel like a powerful guru too (and I know you do) you can sign up here

August Playlist

/

August is here. The dreaded month before we all head back to the reality of Fall, which for most of us includes heading back to school. As summer winds down, your plans don't have to! Whether you're fitting in one last road trip or relaxing on the lazy days of summer on the beach somewhere- this playlist is perfect for you. So roll those windows down, press play, and hold on (clutch, grasp for dear life, etc) to those last few weeks of a perfect season.

Style Envy: Lollapalooza 2014

/

The summertime is all about festival style and last weekend at Lollapalooza did not disappoint! I only was able to make it to one day of the three day long event held every summer in Chicago.  I braved a very rainy and muddy Sunday in Grant Park but it was for sure worth it to see the Kings of Leon headline with my favorite Chicago Skyline in the back! Since everyone was pretty covered in mud by the time I got there I wasn't able to shoot streetstyle so I'm picking my favorites snapped by Cosmo, Billboard, and refinery29.

1) Now THIS is how you do a flower crown without looking cliche.

2) Love this matching Free People set!

3) This breezy dress is the perfect way to beat the heat and look fabulous

4) How cute is this spin on overalls? Love the classic white tee and red lips

5) Loving this classic striped jumper.

6) And here is what I wore! I bought my ticket 3 days before the show so I didn't have time to search for the perfect outfit! I found this fun dress at Forever21 an paired it with my trusty combat boots and a DIY fringe arm band!
