MBFW Swim 2015

Thursday, July 31, 2014 /

Well, thank you swim week for re-igniting my love for bathing suits. In case you missed swim week this year – it was fantastic! Even though Summer 2014 is in full swing, all the new looks for bathing suits has got me planning for 2015!

Here are my top five favorite looks!

Wildfox swimwear is perfect for the rebel in you. This simple, yet flirty swimsuit was one of my favorites from the collection. The fit of the top makes it great to pair with a maxi skirt or high-waisted shorts!

One pieces have made a comeback in the most fabulous way. This piece from Mara Hoffman’s collection is amazing. Between the cut-out design and graphic print, it’s the perfect statement bathing suit.

Frankie’s Bikinis is one of my favorite designers for bathing suits.  Simple and sexy -this piece from their collection perfectly embosses the carefree, beach girl attitude.
Aquarella swimwear used the best color combo for this piece. Bright colors are essential to highlight your awesome tan!

Lastly, this piece from Suboo brings you straight to paradise. The palm tree print fits perfectly for when you’re lounging on the beach.

Hope these looks served as some inspiration for your swim attire!

We Heart It: Instagram

Wednesday, July 30, 2014 /

I am obsessed with Instagram lately. I literally sit for hours drooling over the amazing fashion and style some wonderful people upload. I have so many favorites, but I have carefully selected a few must-follow Instagram accounts for this entry.

1.     CHIARAFERRAGNI
This lady has the most amazing style (and life in general). She has a serious taste for the Wanderlust lifestyle, regularly posting pictures from different and incredible locations. Chiara has a simple and very girly style, which I love. I spend time wishing I had some of her insane designer goods. Chiara if you read this…can I borrow your black Céline bag? Or perhaps the burgundy Chanel? PLEASE.

2.     SOMETHINGNAVY
This lovely lady lives a seriously enviable life. Her clothes are TO DIE FOR. I love just scanning through her photos, pondering what life would be like if I was living in New York, engaged to a fabulous man and had the coolest style ever. She literally lives the dream. Plus, she has the cutest dog, named Dylan, whose Instagram I also follow. Do it.

3.     ROCCARYANRUNWAY
This is an Instagram I love for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is an Irish account…what’s not to love? Secondly, the account has an eclectic mix of so many different styles and tastes, which is perfect if you’re looking for some inspiration. It has style tips for every season and every occasion. This account gets a gold star from me. FOLLOW FOLLOW FOLLOW.

4.     WEWOREWHAT
Firstly, why do all fabulous instagrammers have the CUTEST dogs ever? Weworewhat will not disappoint on the canine front for sure. This Instagram is clearly run by someone who loves the beach and the boho style that goes with it. If you’re looking for some bikini inspiration, this is the Instagram for you.

Happy instagramming! Until next time!

Hats We Love

/

Throughout the last year my love for hats has become an obsession. They can add flavor to any outfit in a matter of seconds. Here our are top five hats we can’t get enough of!

1.     Of course the festive felt fedora would be on the top of our list. Not only is this a great transition hat from summer to fall but it literally can go with anything! Get it here!

2.     Recently one of my dearest friends purchased a bowler hat and I decided that when worn correctly are absolutely stunning. This will definitely make my list for my fall accessories. Get this one here!

3.     This last week I literally cried tears of joy when I saw this flat top wide-brimmed hat. I have been searching like crazy for a flat top hat and knew instantly that this is what I was looking for. Get this adorable one here!

4.     Why not have a wide-brimmed straw fedora? It is the perfect summer accessory and can be dressed up or dressed down no matter what occasion. Get the look here!

5.     Last but certainly not least we have to give the baseball hat a shoutout. For those days when putting on clothes feels like a chore or when you want to go out for a summer adventure. A baseball hat will make you look super cute and sporty all at the same time! Get this cute one here!

Wishing you endless summer days.

10 Things We Loved This Week

Friday, July 25, 2014 /

      1. The book turned movie sensation 50 Shades of Grey has been anticipated by all of the female species. With the release of the trailer this Thursday it made everyone secretly wish that 2015 was a little closer. We are also trying to patiently wait for the edgy film to arrive.

2. This year Nordstrom’s anniversary sale has caught the attention of the nation. It will showcase Fashion blogger and editor Jillian Mercado, who has been in a wheel chair since she was twelve years old. Nordstrom is gets two thumbs up this week from the Rebel team by showing girls can be fierce no matter what challenges you face. You go Jillian!

3. This week was Selena Gomez’s 22nd birthday and not only can she call Taylor Swift her best friend but she also go her own personal shoutout by Swift on her Insta. Of course with kind gestures like this who wouldn’t want to be Swift’s best friend? Snaps for putting bros before hoes Taylor!

4. We want to give Blake Lively a round of applause this week for launching her website “Preserve.” From food to interesting people around the globe you can find it all on “Preserve.” Of course we wanted to be Blake Lively before but now the jealousy has been magnified! Great job Blake!

5. Although all your family members have migrated towards Facebook the new feature cannot go unnoticed. The save-it-now read-it-later feature is going to be the time crunch savior. No more scrolling until you found that interesting link or article. Now can we just find an app that does our nails while we are texing?

6.  If you’re not following our favorite former “The Hills” star Lauren Conrad on Insta, you wouldn’t know that she decided it was time for a change. Yesterday she debuted her new platinum blonde locks on her insta and can we say gorg!

7. We are still getting chills from Stuart Scott’sperseverance speech on the 2014 ESPY’s. Not only did it inspire us on a totally new level but also it warmed our heart when he spoke of his unconditional love for both of his daughters. *aweee*

8. We are shouting thank you to the sky with the new microwavable cake batter two
(can we say genius?) Harvard students concocted. This is most definitely going to be the most popular break up food yet.

9. Rebel girl Miley Cyrus was at it again this week when she and Pharrell Williams released the new video to “Come Get it Bae.” If you are rooting for Miley like we are head over to Rebel Redefined and purchase our Team Miley shirt!

10. Last but certainly not least #rebelnation is celebrating this week with our 3,000 follower mark on Insta! Thank you for the continued support and spreading the Rebel spirit!

Have an amazing weekend!

Rebel Road Trips

Thursday, July 24, 2014 /

Summertime is such a perfect time to explore new places. There’s more free time, it’s warm, there are more fun things to do, and there’ sunshine — and let’s face it, there is NOTHING better than driving around with the windows rolled down and sunshine on your face. I’ve had the opportunity to travel quite a bit recently, so I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite spots. Unfortunately, the majority of my travels have been on the east side of the United States, so this list doesn’t include any of the beautiful west that I’d love to have the opportunity to explore more. However, if you live on the east coast (or are wanting to take a very long road trip!), then this is for you. Travel away, my fellow explorers!

Chicago

To those of you who have never had the pleasure of experiencing the Windy City, all I have to say is GO. Now. Although I’ve never been to New York City (which I am embarrassed and ashamed to admit), I like to think of Chicago as a less intense and less expensive but still awesome version of the Big Apple. As clichéd as it is, I never miss out on visiting Magnificent Mile — it just has some of the best shopping there is. After you’ve discovered the wonderful Michigan Avenue, don’t miss out on some of the amazing streets around it as well; Michigan may have the best chain stores, but so many unique, fun stores can be found in close proximity. If you’re looking for something a little less upscale, check out one of my favorite parts of Chicago, Lincoln Park. Located in an area that’s a little more hip, this part of the city is perfectly quaint and has vintage stores galore. And once you’ve literally shopped till you dropped (you will, trust me), take a quick nap and head on over to Navy Pier, a huge tourist attraction but still very fun place to visit. Another claim to fame this city has? Lollapalooza. And that’s as good a reason as any to check out this awesome place if you haven’t already.

Savannah

Having spent a year in this place, it’s a town that is near and dear to my heart. With its cobblestone streets, Spanish moss and countless (okay 22) squares, it is stunning and haunting and filled to the brim with beautiful places to explore. Savannah is extremely tourist friendly, so there is never a shortage of fun activities, but I would recommend getting a little off the beaten path. Curl up in one of its many quaint coffee shops (Foxy Loxy is the best, hands down), go for a run in Forsyth Park while the sun rises, and meander down Jones Street (arguably the prettiest street in Savannah) for a little while to soak in some of that sweet Southern charm that Savannah has so wonderfully mastered. And if you don’t stop for some ice cream at Leopold’s at least once, you might want to rethink your priorities.

Charleston

Only a short little drive from Savannah, this charming city is one you shouldn’t miss. With a plethora of bridges and views of the ocean everywhere you turn, the beauty of Charleston is matched only by its Southern hospitality. Be sure to spend a day on the beach while you’re there (there are countless), because nothing beats the ocean in the beautiful low country. After you’ve had your fill of sunshine, make your way to King Street in the heart of downtown. This seemingly never-ending road is a shopper’s paradise, with tons of stores surrounded by sweet old buildings and more of those adorable cobblestone streets. Do some more wandering here (King Street can be a little hectic) for a better view of the city’s architecture. And once you’re sick of oohing and ahhing over pastel-colored buildings, ask a local where to eat — they always know best.

Bloomington

Bloomington, Indiana may seem like a random pick, but you’d be surprised at how much this college town has to offer. Home to Indiana University, this little town is surprisingly hip — and if you’re looking to take a short day trip, you can’t find anything better. Kirkwood Avenue is the place to start, with plenty of cute shops, cafés and restaurants to suit your fancy. If you like eating healthy, this is the place to go; not only do they have the cutest little grocery store ever (I am a health food nerd), they have tons of vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurants to choose from as well. Bloomington also has a lot of great concerts, so don’t forget to check out upcoming artists before you go. Bloomington is fairly small, so if you want to visit somewhere else to make your road trip a little longer, you’re in luck. Columbus, Indiana is only a short drive away, and has another quaint downtown area as well as LOTS of beautiful architecture — if you go, be sure to take a tour. Indianapolis is close as well, and has some fantastic museums, parks, and downtown fun to keep you entertained for days.

Nashville

While many know this place for its country music scene and fantastic colleges, Nashville has so much more to offer. If you’re in the area, head on over to East Nashville, a trendy little place I like to call “Hipsterville” from time to time. But don’t let that nickname intimidate you — everyone there is the nicest, coolest person you’ll ever meet. Before you do anything, stop and grab a cappuccino from the popular Barista Parlor, a garage turned café with some of the best coffee around. After that, the possibilities are endless. Be sure to do some thrifting, as the vintage stores there are pretty much unparalleled (and there are a ton). And when you’re finally tuckered out from all that shopping, check the listings for concerts at the beautiful Ryman Auditorium — because country music isn’t the only thing Nashville does well.

How We Wear It: Radiate Love

Wednesday, July 23, 2014 /

Hey Rebels! Stay radiating love all summer in this loose tee! Rebel Redefined has SO many awesome tees to choose from, but this is one of my favorites! It’s versatile style inspires so many possibilities for outfits. I chose to pair it with denim shorts and a flower crown for a festival feel. Then, a pencil skirt and wedges for street style chic.
