If you’re anything like me, you
know how easy it can be to fall into a fashion rut. Due to the fact that my
closet is comprised of basics in various shades of black, the “rut” into which
I fall never really comes as a surprise. Yet however chic I imagine my rut to
be, it inevitably leaves me feeling underdressed, uninspired, and curled up in
a ball of desperation. If you, too, suffer from this predicament, have no fear
— solving the “different day, same old chic” dilemma is easier than you think.
If I happen to feel myself lacking
in creative vision, I merely revert to an old tried and true trick, and my
outfit today is a perfect example. It’s a phenomenon known to every fashion
girl in the world, and for good reason: it works. The secret? Juxtaposition. Simply mix
opposites together, and the result is always magic.
For my outfit, I chose a mix of
high and low. I paired my casual Rebel Redefined t-shirt with some thrifted
jeans, and mixed them with over-the-top sunglasses and a sleek pair of leather
flats. Without accessories, my outfit would have been boring at best. But with
a little flair to contrast the potential dullness, I ensured that that the only
place for the “different day, same old chic” problem was on my shirt.
You can get the look with my favorite 'Same Old Chic' tee here!
